Guangzhou police have upped security in time for the National Day celebrations. Helicopters are now patrolling the city and will be operating during the busiest time of year.

Guangzhou has been slowly increasing its security this year, with stricter security checks on subways and more officers on patrol.

This national week is predicted to surpass existing national averages across the nation; Guangzhou alone is expecting up to 10.6 million passengers travelling through the city via railway during the week long holiday.
