Yunnan Struck by 5.0 Magnitude Earthquake, 20 Injured

Yunnan province has been struck by its second earthquake in a fortnight, as Yongshan County was shaken by a 5.0 magnitude quake just two weeks after an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale killed 600 and injured thousands in nearby Ludian.

20 have been reportely injured, however, fortunately there have been no fatalities so far. 1,428 houses have suffered damage whilst 42 houses collapsed completely.

As of this morning, around 200 firefighters have arrived in Yongshan to aid recovery efforts.
