WHO Invited to Send Experts to China to Study H7N9

China’s Ministry of Health has invited eight avian flu experts from the World Health Organization to come to China to investigate the recent H7N9 outbreak, specifically focusing on China’s live poultry markets.

As of April 16, 77 cases of the H7N9 bird flu virus have been confirmed in China, with 16 dying from the virus.

The H7N9 outbreak has also taken its toll on China’s poultry industries, with a reported loss of 13 billion RMB thus far.
