More details have emerged regarding the mass suicide threat that occurred on the morning of January 4.

Three people have been arrested for ‘illegal fundraising’ after it emerged that they had taken off with their investors’ money. The case gained national attention after 12 of those investors climbed on to the top of the Shuozhou National Development and Reform Commission  in Shanxi Province yesterday morning and threatened to jump.

After meeting with government officials, police discovered that the 12 people were desperately seeking government intervention after a man named Ma Aibin, took off with their investment money.

Few details have been released regarding the three who were arrested, who were all venture capitalists, according to China Daily, and it is unclear whether the 12 had previously taken their case to the local police.

Ma Aibin is still on the run.
