The 7th annual “Love and Marriage Expo,” a massive blind dating event for singles under 40, will be held in Shanghai from October 31 to November 1. Those eligible can register for the event for free between October 10 and 25.

Singles can register at 40 designated matchmaking agencies, or through the official website of the Association of Shanghai Dating (http://www.hjxh.cn) or the Shanghai Love and Marriage Expo’s Official Site (http://www.wrxqh.com). Interested parties must provide proof of single status (divorce papers, proof of widowhood), proof of qualifications, two photos, and other relevant paperwork (housing deeds, driver’s licenses, tax certificates).

The event is organized by the Shanghai Women’s Federation, the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, and other government agencies. The first “Love and Marriage Expo,” was held on November 11, 2011 and was attended by 200,000 single men and women along with their friends and relatives.

The blind dating event will be held in Aima Gong Hunli Park in Luodian, in Shanghai’s Baoshan District.
