The Retirement of Window’s XP in 2014 a Big Problem for China
Aug 09, 2013 By eChinacities.com

According to an article published by Computer World on August 8, Window’s XP operating system will officially “retire” next year. While this announcement affects all countries worldwide, China now faces a particularly large predicament due to the fact that by July 2013 72.1% (three out every four machines) of all computers in China were still using the XP operating system.

While computer owners worldwide have begun migrating to a new operating system, China still hasn’t begun to kick the habit of using XP. On August 8, 2014, when the system retires, computers will no longer receive security updates, hot-fixes or free or paid support from Microsoft.

What's the problem? Won't the Chinese simply pirate Windows 7 or 8 or whatever they want to change to?
