The highest speed of the new railway is 355 km/hr. One train departs every 15 minutes and it takes only 26 minutes and 26 seconds from new Beijing South Railway Station to Tianjin North Railway Station, comparable with a subway trip within either city.

The ticket is a little higher than the current China Railway High-speed (CRH) series: RMB 69 for first-class seats and RMB 58 for second-class seats.

The schedule for Beijing-Tianjin Inter-City Railway is as follows:

The first train leaves at 6:15am and the last one departs at 10:10pm. From 7:20am to 10:45am, 11:30am to 12:15am, 5:20pm to 6:50pm, and 7:40pm to 8:25pm there is a train every 15 minutes; the rest of the time,one train departs every 20 to 30 minutes.
