Supreme Court Rules that BYOB violates ‘Inequality Clause’
Feb 20, 2014 By eChinacities.com

The supreme court of China recently upheld a law that falls under the ‘Inequality Clause’ that says that restaurants are not allowed to forbid you to bring your own booze. They go on further to say that setting a price limit for the minimum a customer must spend is also a violation of this law.

The court say that customers can now report an establishment for breaking this clause. That seems a little drastic as the number of complaints they will get is sure to be abundant.

So people may bring their own drinks to a restaurant, buy nothing and sit forever?

Thank God. I always hated spend this much min. But really I do not see this changing anything. Laws are not really enforced in China.

I'd like to read more but there are no sources cited. This "inequality clause" seems interesting.
