Shorter Intervals on Several of Shanghai’s Metro Lines From March 28
Mar 28, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Six of Shanghai metro lines, lines 1,5,6,8,9 and 11, will operate on a new, more frequent, schedule as of today, March 28. The times of the first and last trains will remain the same, but more trains have been added to the rotation so that waiting time between trains will be shorter for passengers. The move comes in an attempt to ease heavy flow of traffic on those lines.

The waiting times for some of the mentioned lines will be quicker by as much as half the previous time. For example, line 1, during peak periods, will now have a waiting time between trains of 4 minutes, compared to the 8 minutes it used to be. x
