Shenzhen’s biggest ‘car-bumper’ was caught on October 11. According to the police report, Mr Lai’s Guangdong license plate B6LU57 Silver Honda was only on the road between June 2013 and June 2014, but in that time he allegedly got into 120 traffic accidents.
A victim, Liu Yi, said that he was bumped into in June this year. The driver, Mr Lai, and his associates then got out of the car and started swearing and terrorizing him. They threatened to call their triad friends and have them get involved, and pressurized him to settle it between them.
Hopefully the streets will be a little safer now that he’s been caught; however, in China where false accusations following traffic accidents are all too common, you never know. Sometimes being a pedestrian in China can cost you, as this man in Nanjing found out.
