Shenzhen police have been a bit obsessed with jaywalking as of late. Police have cracked down on jaywalkers these past week by making them wear culturally stigmatized “green hats,” and help police direct traffic. Police caught 9,511 jaywalkers in the entire city in the span of the week.

Shenzhen police took down data on each caught jaywalker. They found that men and are more likely to jaywalk then women. 82.96% jaywalkers were men, while 17.04% were women.

Young people aged 18-30 are more likely to run red light than their elder peers. Police caught 209 jaywalkers below 18 years old, 4,797 jaywalkers aged 18 to 30, 2,305 aged 31 to 40, 1,619 aged 41-50, 516 aged 61 to 70, and four over the age of 70.

Police even recorded the zodiac signs of all of the jaywalkers, because why not? Libras, Virgos, and Scorpios are most likely to jaywalk, with Virgos as the worst violators.

Pedestrians are more likely to jaywalk during rush hour- most were caught either around 8:00 am or 5:00 pm.
