Shanghai Tightens Laws on Chain Restaurant Supplier Transparency

Shanghai Tightens Laws on Chain Restaurant Supplier Transparency
Aug 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

In order to improve supervision of food suppliers, a few days ago the Shanghai Food and Drug administration asked chain restaurants to provide information on their suppliers.

Among the restaurants involved are McDonalds, Dico’s and Burger King, who have all added a special section with regards to ingredient supplier information on their website.

All these companies took a big hit following the Husi food scandal. McDonalds has already changed their supplier to Ming-Food Co. Ltd., and Dico’s has added a new section to their website to ensure transparency surrounding their 26 suppliers, in order to regain trust.
