Shanghai Metro Introduces 3 RMB ‘Overtime Fee’

Passengers who spend more than four hours riding the Metro will be subject to an extra 3 RMB charge when they swipe out. The measure has been put in place in order to stop people from loitering in the subway all day and to assist with security procedures.

Any customers who have queries about the regulations have been instructed to call the customer service hotline, the number of which can be found at Metro stations throughout the city.
