The 15th typhoon of the year, named ‘Seagull’, will be arriving in Guangdong province on the afternoon of September 16, and will cause heavy rains throughout the entire province until midnight and into September 17.

As a result, Guangdong, including the three big cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhujiang will receive between 300 and 400 centimeters of rain. Typhoon ‘seagull’ is expected to log in at strength 13 or 14.

The weather department has warned the public that with the seasonal changes from summer to autumn, weather fluctuations are making typhoons more likely during this time period.
