On March 20, the Rhodes Foundation announced in Beijing that it would formally establish a Rhodes scholarship for Chinese students. By the end of 2015, the foundation will select 3 to 6 Chinese students to travel to Oxford University to pursuit postgraduate studies starting in October. The students must be 19 to 25 years old, therefore the scholarship is only open to recent college graduates.
Each year, 80 Rhodes scholars are selected from the United States, Germany, Australia, Canada, India and more than 80 other countries. The funds for the Chinese Rhodes scholars were raised in China and Hong Kong- donors included Hong Kong's Li Kai Shing Foundation. The Chinese Rhodes scholarship covers all tuition fees, accommodation, medical insurance and travel expenses totaling more than 50,000 Pounds per year.

It does make you racist. I enjoy being disliked by you because I would never want to be liked by someone with a such a low intellect. I too have worked with black people and white people. I have met terrible types of people who are both black and white. However, when I do meet people who come from messed up backgrounds who aspire to be something moral and responsible, I will help them. I really pray we never meet in real life. At least accept yourself for what you are, if you can confidently admit your prejudice, I can at least have some respect. But, you can't even admit you are a bigot.

At least they probably will take the money and not protest about Rhodes' statue offending them because he was a colonialist, like black students recently did in Cape Town. They actually threw excrement on it and demanded the removal, regardless of scholarships and the fact that the very university was established by Rhodes. And some people still wonder why China don't want black teachers.

It's not as simple as that Yongge. Cecil John Rhodes has a history regarding Southern Africa that is completely separate to his philanthropic ventures in education. Like you said, he was a colonialist, and there were many different atrocities and episodes of exploitation, rape and pillage that he has been found to have played some part in - that cannot be ignored when attempting to understand why the Black students acted in the way that they did.

Dude, what an asshole statement. I love how you twisted it to Chinese schools not hiring blacks. There is no connection. It seems like you are justifying your own disliking for black people. If a former Japanese imperialist opened a school in China and started an educational scholarship, there would still be a lot of uncomfortable people. Chinese at least are respected in western countries... (Although, some attitudes are changing) Of all races, no one would choose to be black, if given a choice. No matter how well they dress, how much they accomplish, whatever they do... They will still be thought of as the worst and lowest people. Most of them were thrown in neglected communities and forgotten about. They are heavily exploited. When chinese pee, poo, spit on the street, engage in corruption... They are still respected and not thought of as the lowest people. When you go the west, the common attitude toward a well-spoken and intelligent Asian is positive. The common attitude toward a well-spoken and intelligent black man is one of distrust. I used to be bigoted until I did some research. Leave the blacks alone. The disdain for blacks and Indians in China is high as hell. Yet, foreign nations that "invaded" China were mostly white. The localsboth loathe and view them as model for wealth. Even the girls have a white dude fettish. In China, the tier list is: 1. Local 2. White 3. Other Asians...

Ah, being politically correct, Hakaider? Yes, Rhodes was a colonialist who caused the Anglo Boer War, which left thousands of white Afrikaner women and children dead in concentration camps. I didn't see any Afrikaner protesting against his statue, they accepted history and went on with their lives, something blacks don't seem to be able to do. There is always a reason and someone to blame for their situation, it is never themselves. I bet your "research" never involved being exposed to black people on a daily basis. There is a reason why they are discriminated against. But please don't label me as a racist, I would like to see the sun shine on everyone, I am just not into apologies for ineptitude and being PC.

But, don't claim you like everyone when you don't. I hate the term PC because it is dismissive. You can just say, he is PC because he is not an asshole. I am NOT an apologist and I don't like all black people. However, there skin color doesn't have much to do with that. I don't like you. It is not because you are Chinese, but because you are ignorant. Yes, that is a personal attack. Not, very PC right? Like I said, I used to be a biggot like you. However, I was able to overcome my idiocy by doing a little research and actually getting to know more black people. Most of them are not bad or blame anyone for their ills. But, to say they they weren't or aren't screwed over no matter how "well-behaved" they are is simply not true. There are a lot elements that attack black people. The media spreads a certain type of culture to indoctrinate their thinking. Their communities are often exploited. Again, if you are black... It doesn't matter how smart, well dressed or successful you are... People will never completely trust or fully accept you. This is the truth. Just recently a black guy was found hanging from a tree in America. How about how major cities largely ignore ghettos and hollywood sells the the thug culture to the youth? Again, I think research proves a lot. Black people are systematically kept down by poisoning their families and communities. There is a lot of documentation to support the CIA, hollywood and government collectively working to destroy black communities. What is the best way to support your own bigotry and racism? Turn the people into the image that fits the way you view them. As a Chinese, you of all people should understand this concept. Chinese corruption and crime is killing your country. What boss doesn't have an er nai? Domestic violence happens in 1/3 homes in China. Moral decay is at every level of society in China. This is a fact. MANY people in China get involved in every dirty means to make money. It is the only country where a child can be hit by a car and many people will just ignore the body. Not ghetto people, but well educated, rich, audi driving people... They pee, poo, crap, spit and do all sorts of behaviour in public. The pick their nose on the bus and fling the booger. Even, Africans don't behave that way. Yet, I would NEVER say Chinese DESERVE to be discriminated against!! I am smart enough to say that while many Chinese piss me off, there are many people I do like in China. I respect my Chinese friends and I believe in them.

I don't like you either, the way you try to justify the misery of black people is the reason why the world is in the state it is and Africans flee to Europe in their hordes. Wonder why? BTW, I am not Chinese, I have lived and worked with black people for many years, my opinion does not come from internet research, but from what you are saying, I can easily become a Chinese. And I am really not a racist, I just don't like black people. That doesn't make me a racist, or does it?
