Nikon Halts Sales of D600 Camera After Chinese TV Show Alleges Flaws

Nikon has said it will halt the sale of D600 Camera’s in China and conduct free repairs on any of the faulty digital cameras after a China Central Television (CCTV) investigation alleged that defects in the products caused black spots on photographs.

The Tokyo-based company received an order from the Shanghai Administration for Industry and Commerce on March 17 telling them to halt all sales. A spokesperson from Nikon also said that they would be recalling any product that dealers still had shelved.

Nikon was one of six companies that was profiled by the program’s annual ‘consumer day’ segment. A segment, which last year lambasted smartphone maker, Apple for their China warranties.
