A Nigerian man and his Chinese girlfriend were quite possibly this week’s most naïve couple in China. Customs officials in Zhuhai caught a Nigerian man and a Chinese girl trying to post a parcel filled with drugs out of China.
On March 18, the Anti Smuggling branch of the police force caught a Chinese woman trying to send the illegal package overseas. It turns out that she was the girlfriend of a Nigerian man leading the operation and using her ‘Chinese look’ to try to get away with the smuggling. However, there are no indications that she was sending the parcel against her own will.

I am just grateful that the article did not refer to the man as a foreigner. I can not tolerate such articles. This one needed more details about the crime but I can live with a brief summary.

I've tried once to send Chinese milkpowder (the wonderful Hongxing brand) back home, but it was refused at the post office because the bags might contain drugs. Made me wonder how all those young Chinese mothers get by their imported milkpowder.

We got plenty of packages from Holland. The main problem is getting through the apathy of my Dutch friends to actually make the effort. They need to sign a statement that the milk powder is a gift; that puts them off even more. But once sent, the packages arrive consistently faster than letter mail.
