Manned Shenzhou 10 Scheduled for Launch in Mid-June

On June 3, the Shenzhou 10 spacecraft was positioned in the launch tower at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu. Its launch is planned for mid-June, and the spacecraft will be manned by three astronauts as it attempts to dock with China’s first space station, the Tiangong-1.

Female astronaut Wang Yaping, who is set to be aboard the Shenzhou 10 during the mission, will become China’s second woman in space after the launch.
