Man Fakes Kidnapping, Tries to Extort Wife to Pay Off Gambling Debt
Feb 24, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Recently, Ms Yang Duan received a disturbing ransom. The note said that her husband had been kidnapped and if she wanted him back she would have to pay 150,000 RMB ransom. After many attempts to try and contact him unsuccessfully, Miss Yang began to believe the kidnappers tale. She then got the local Zhengzhou police involved.

The ‘kidnappers’ had given the details of a bank account into which Ms Yang could transfer the money. When the police investigated they found the bank account was attached to an address. When the police got to the address given, they barged in and found Ms Yang’s husband hiding there.

It turns out he had faked his own kidnapping in order to get his wife to give him the 150,000 RMB he owed in gambling debts. Talk about communication issues in a marriage.

Hahaha... he didn't consider the fact she would contact the police and they would trace the account... of course not... I guess we can't expect too much from a guy that is 150 000 RMB in gambling debt.
