Jaycee Chan Formally Charged with Drug Offence
Dec 25, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Jaycee Chan, son of movie legend Jackie Chan, has been formally charged with sheltering others to use drugs after he and a fellow star, Taiwanese Kai Ko, were detained at Chan’s Beijing home in August.

The 32 year old was found with over 100 grams of marijuana in his home, admidst an anti-drugs crackdown that saw several film and television stars arrested, and various bars across the city were subjected to anti-drugs raids.

Jacki Chan apologised for his son’s arrest in August saying that he felt “heartbroken” and “ashamed”, but would stick by his son. The incident is particularly embarassing for the veteran actor as he has previous held a role as an anti-drugs ambassador in mainland China.

Ko was released after 14 days administrative detention but Chan was put under criminal detention on the more serious charge of “providing a shelter for others to abuse drugs”. If convicted he could serve up to three years of jail time.

A set-an-example case, the kid is paying the price for being Jackie Chan's son. Also possibly a case turn political as a result of Hong Kong's umbrella movement. CCP is well known for using this kind of compaign to broadcast white terror. Laws are at best a political weapon with China.

I'm pretty surprised at all the foreigners who get away with doing drugs in China...but they pretty much follow suit with prostitution.
