Jackie Chan’s Troubled Anti-Drug Ambassadorship

Jackie Chan’s Troubled Anti-Drug Ambassadorship
Jun 29, 2015 By eChinacities.com

This story is one that follows the previous events of the arrest and imprisonment of Jackie Chan’s son for a drug-related crime.

Chan recently made a public appearance on the “Day Day Up” show under his status as China’s public anti-drug ambassador, speaking of personal difficulties faced between him and his son.

Chan said that he has no idea why he didn’t resign his status as China’s anti-drug ambassador after the fact, and that he also has no idea why he always ends up talking about his son every time he makes a public appearance.

The Hong Kong star somewhat strangely said that he thinks it’d be best if his son could go to prison for six months every year (in contrast to the single half-year prison sentence that his son finished already). Chan didn’t specify how many of such prison sentences he thought would be ideal.

He also told about his son’s lack of confidence following his prison release. “He’s always staring downward when talking to others, and I don’t know how to instill confidence in him. Whenever going out to places, he’s always sneaky about it, and he doesn’t even look at me when talking to me.”

Chan finally said that just thinking about how to talk to his son is difficult. The ordeal remains a difficult one for him, for both his public anti-drug image and his private role as a father.

Jackie Chan is a disrepectful and selfish person, whoremonger tendenciesand a slight touch if not full blown case of hidden racism. He cannot expect to be a good drug ambassador or father, when he's not a good person. FOOD FOR THOUGHT-FYI

If Jackie Chan is anything like every single other Chinese person in the world, he has saved 99.99999% of his paychecks, and spent the rest in HongBaos. Can't one of those hongbaos get the son outta the spotlight?

To be honest, Bruce Lee blows too. Just one of those things that was cool because it was the first, but blows in reality.

There is overwhelming evidence that it causes the development of schizophrenia in many individuals who smoke it regularly, when teenagers. Not the worst drug by far but it's bad news. I smoked it regularly when a teenager and it did hinder ambition BTW good looking wee dude in photo

Discussing family problems within a close-knit counseling group of 1.3 billion - is that the ambassador's drug strategy? Or is he trying to deflect disapproval towards his son by shaming him in public?

I'm going to vomit. Since when did Jackie Chan become the old stubborn Chinese man poster boy? A marijuana drug arrest? Grow up. Yet another distraction that takes eyes off of the millions of hungry, educationally deprived, and internationally clueless people in China.

He should pick one side or the other, either step down as anti drug ambassador and complain about his son's bad life direction or step up, cut ties with his wayward son and redouble his anti-drug stance. His way of trying to get both benefits at once isn't gonna win him any support.

Really? Cut ties with his son for some made up BS role? How about re-establish himself as a father but first take responsibility for the results of your poor parenting . He's acting like an impotent fool. And who the heck cares?

"Chan said that he has no idea why he didn’t resign his status (as an anti-drug ambassador". This would probably be because he is a hypocrite like most other Chinese ambassadors.
