The opening ceremony for the IAAF Athletics World Championships will be held on August 22 at 5:45 pm in Beijing. The games will run until August 30.
1,936 athletes from 207 countries will compete in the track and field championships. The Usain Bolt, Justin Gatlin match ups in the Mens 100m and 200m will be key races to watch for track fans.
All 570,000 tickets have already been sold out. The Athletic World Championship Organizing Committee reported that 3,885 domestic and foreign media correspondents have registered to attend. Among the press, 985 journalists and photographers, including 679 foreign reporters, and 306 domestic reporters will be present.
