Guangzhou police recently raided a ‘hideout for mass gay promiscuity’, arresting 113 men. In the establishment they found large quantities of pornographic material and condoms. The police have stated that the venue was used for a service where gay men could rent out the rooms on a short term basis for sexual purposes.

The investigation began in December 2013 when police joined a QQ group, containing 2,800 members, which the hosts used to spread information about the club. The members of the group ranged from 18 to 50 years of age and included students, teachers, businessmen and truck drivers, among others. At the time of the bust, more than 800 men had visited the venue and made use of the facilities.

Police have charged the owner, Mr. Wang, and are holding him in detention until the hearing.
