Foreigners Will Soon be Able to Set Up Pension Schemes in China

On June 6, a policy drafted up by various pension agencies that allows foreigners to apply for pension schemes was announced to the public. Within the draft is a ruling that states foreigners will be able to apply for pension plans with a validity of five years should they meet certain requirements.

The ruling will allow foreign organizations as well as individuals or foreigners working for Chinese companies to be able to set up pension plans in China, and is open to anyone.

Should there be any discrimination during the pension setting up process, then agencies will face a fine of up to 30,000 RMB
