Around 17:00 on Wednesday July 17, a foreigner and a Chinese citizen were stabbed to death outside Beijing’s Joy City shopping mall in the city’s Chaoyang District.

The 27-year-old assailant, surnamed Xiao, has declared himself mentally ill after police tackled him to the ground before taking him into custody. He is also reportedly a native of Yishui, Shandong Province.

Details regarding the victims have not been released, though the foreigner (whose nationality also remains unknown) has been identified as female.

don't know but police is always covering up the stories involving foreigner killings or stabing by saying the attacker was mentally ill. the below link also mentioned the same. seems like metally ill people don't really like foreigners in China :( http://www.echinacities.com/news/Shanghai-Man-Stabs-Two-Foreigners.
