According to the US Department of Commerce, Chinese tourists spent almost 1.1 million USD while on holiday in the US last year, an increase of 46% on the year before.
In 2012, foreign tourists to America spent a total of 168.1 billion USD, with Chinese tourists spending an average of 7,000 USD per person during their travels.
The top destination visited by Chinese tourists was Los Angeles, with over two thirds of Chinese tourists who go the US visiting the city.
