Chinese Director Jia Zhangke Wins Best Screenplay at Cannes

Chinese director Jia Zhangke won the award for Best Screenplay for his film “A Touch of Sin” at the 66th Cannes film festival, which drew to a close on May 26.

The film follows four storylines set in vastly different geographical and social backdrops in modern-day China, looking at the various social problems affecting young people today.

French-Tunisian director Abdel Kechiche won the festival’s top award, the Palme d’Or for his film “The Life of Adele”.
