Chinese Businessman Pays 400,000 USD for a Pigeon

A Belgian racing pigeon by the name of “Bolt” (which is either an insult or a compliment to Usain, depending on how you see it) has become the world’s most expensive racing bird after a Chinese businessman visiting Brussels purchased it for the sum of 310,000 EUR (400,000 USD).

The specially bred racing birds are becoming increasingly sought-after items in China. The “retired” Bolt will be used for breeding purposes once he arrived in the Middle Kingdom.
