China Ranks Highest in the World for Online Purchases at 1.85 Trillion RMB

The Ministry of Commerce recently announced that China’s online purchases in 2013 totaled an astonishing 1.85 trillion RMB, surpassing the United States to become the world’s biggest online retail market.

The figure represents 7.8 percent of the total volume of retail sales in that year. It has been estimated that China’s online sales will reach 5.5 trillion RMB by 2020.
