Everybody’s favorite band of brutes have been at it again this week, as a group of Chengguan, alternatively known as “urban street management enforcers,” were caught on camera beating up a street vendor while her two-year-old child looked on in distress. As the police bundled the woman into a van, the child can be seen breaking into tears, leaving one netizen to caption the photo with “sorry, mom cannot hold you in her arms.” The footage has sparked widespread criticism of the brutality of the chengguan from netizens and media bodies alike, with The Beijing News saying “law enforcement shouldn’t cross the bottom line of humanity, shouldn’t crush the dignity of a mom.”

LARedneck

They are indeed worthless across China. Maybe the new Party leadership should take a hard look and reform this system of legalized thugs in a uniform.
