Bomb Blast at Wenzhou Police Station: Suspect Detained

A man has been detained on suspicion of detonating a bomb outside a Wenzhou Police station. The blast happened at 09:36 this morning, June 12.

An eyewitness report stated that after the initial blast, a man tried to detonate a second bomb, but was stopped by police officers. The bomb was clearly homemade and contained ball bearings and screws.

The identity of the suspect is as yet, unknown, but he was heard speaking the Wenzhou local dialect, according to witnesses.

There were no injuries and the man’s motive is yet to be determined.

The attack comes just days after a man in Hubei province was shot to death by police after entering a primary school with a homemade bomb, and attempting to take a class of six year olds hostage.
