Beloved Giant Rubber Duck Installation Swept Away by Storms in Guizhou
Jul 18, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Florentjin Hofman’s iconic rubber duck has been tragically swept away by rainstorms in Guizhou.

The installation has been a worldwide hit, and was in Guizhou as part of the duck’s world tour. The Guizhou Provincial government is offering a cash reward for the safe return of the duck.

Hopes remain high for his return however, as this isn’t the first time the duck has been in the proverbial hot water; the duck has deflated twice, once in January this year and once in Hong Kong, which prompted another Mainlander-Hong Kong row after Hong Kongers blamed Mainlander’s cigarettes for the demise of the duck.

Here’s a link to the rubber duckie song in tribute to our fallen comrade.
