Beijing’s police force has issued a continuance of the crackdown on three areas of the city where prostitution has been historically bad. The three areas are The Marco Polo Bridge in Fengtai District, Wangsiying in Chaoyang District and Pingguoyuan in Shijingshan District.

In 2013 Beijing police reported more than 5,000 cases of prostitution and pornography violations, down 36.8% from 2012. More than 4,500 arrests were made during this time as the city takes a harsh stance against the controversial profession.
