Aug 24, 2015 By eChinacities.com

On August 20, Beijing began restricting odd and even number license plates in a traffic management measure. Traffic police will prosecute those who violate the temporary policy.

The policy will be in place from August 20 to September 3. Drivers with odd license plates can drive on odd numbered days of the month, and those with even license plates can drive on even numbered days.

Those who violate the odd-even license plate policy will be fined 100 Yuan and given three points on their license. Foreign owned vehicles will be fined for entering the five ring roads during peak hours.
