Beijing will implement odd and even license plate days from August 20 until the September 3 holiday.

During these 15 days, the policy will be implemented from 3:00-24:00. Even number license plate cars will be able to drive on even days of the month, and visa versa for odd plates.

Beijing will increase its public transport capacity by 2% during the restricted period.

On September 3, Beijing will also close both of its airports from 9:30-12:30 for a military parade.

September 3 has been marked “Victory Day,” to celebrate Japan's surrender in the Second World War.
