Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Grows to 57 Founding Members

On April 15, Sweden, Israel, South African, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Portugal and Poland became founding members of the Chinese-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). CCTV reported that there are now 57 founding members of the AIIB. In the future, other countries can be added as members but will be ordinary members rather than founding members.

The 57 founding members of the AIIB are: Austria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
