All Wuhan-Nanjing Flights Grounded
Apr 01, 2011 By eChinacities.com

Starting from March 27th, China Civil Aviation began to implement the 2011 summer and autumn flight plan, according to which all flights between Nanjing and Wuhan were canceled because of strong competition from high-speed railway. This is the first time high-speed railway has forced airlines to cancel flights on the same route. In 2009, the Hefei-Wuhan High-speed Railway was put into operation and cuts the journey between Wuhan and Nanjing to three hours. Three trains run on this route every day, and a ticket for a second-class seat only costs 180 RMB.
