61 H7N9 Cases Now Confirmed in China

The latest developments in the H7N9 bird flu virus outbreak see the case count now rise to 60 across the country, with 13 of the 60 confirmed dead.

According to reports, the latest cases were confirmed on April 14 in Henan’s Zhoukou City, with two locals aged 34 and 65 currently being treated for the virus in a local hospital.

The outbreak, which initially began in the Shanghai area, has now spread to six provinces and 26 cities. There has been two cases in Beijing, 24 cases (nine dead) in Shanghai, 16 cases (one dead) in Jiangsu, 15 cases (two dead) in Zhejiang, two cases (one dead) in Anhui, and now two cases in Henan.
