2nd World Internet Conference Kicks Off in Wuzhen Today

The 2nd World Internet Conference will be held from December 16-18 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. This year, the conference theme is “An Interconnected World Shared and Governed by All.” Wuzhen is a national 5A scenic spot. The first WIC has held in Wuzhen in 2014.

Hundreds of people from world-renowned internet companies will participate in the conference including 100 from the United States. Representatives from major internet companies including Apple, Qualcomm, Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Facebook, Amazon and more will attend. LinkedIn executive chairman and co-founder Reid Hoffman, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, Kaspersky Lab founder Eugene Kaspersky, Sina CEO Cao Guowei, Alibaba’s Jack Ma, Tencent’s Pony Ma, and Masayoshi Son, CEO of Japan’s Soft back will also be in attendance. 

A number of financial institutions, venture capital investment firms, and media giants will be present as well including Yahoo, Nokia, McKinsey, SAP, ARM, Nelson, Samsung, Siemens, Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, Sequoia Capital, IDG Capital, Broadbank Capital Management, Merrill Lynch, Softbank, and more.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and government ministers from more than 50 countries will also attend the meeting.

do they actually have internet there? I was there 2 month ago, it is a ghost town except from the tourist place
