As of 17:00 on April 6, the number of H7N9 bird flu virus cases has jumped to 18, according to China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission.
Six people have now died from the virus, which has been found around Shanghai (eight cases, four dead,) Jiangsu (six cases,) Anhui (one case,) and Zhejiang (three cases, two dead.)
Confirmed cases are reported to have no link to the others, and medical observations and investigations have found no abnormalities. The current outbreaks have also been confirmed to be non-contagious.
