Huanqiu.com ran an online poll asking netizens all over China to pick out who they thought were the most notable foreign influences on the development of social, political, and cultural ideologies in modern China.?

The survey result below lists the top 10 most influential foreigners in terms of their contributions to the modern Chinese understanding of fine arts and philosophy.

A total of 30241 votes were tallied, and netizens were asked to select the ten most influential people from a list of 52 candidates.
