On September 8, images of the serial shoplifter known to Netizens as “the woman in white,” went viral on Chinese social media.
In July 2015, a string of shoplifting crimes were caught on tape in five different districts of Shanghai, all by women with similar physical characteristics. Items stolen included an iPhone, and gold trinkets.
After photos of the woman were posted online, all of Shanghai was on the lookout for her until she was arrested today at 10 am at East Xujing metro station
