It’s been a hot hot summer so far, especially for the residents of Hangzhou who had to put up with sweltering temperatures that hit over 40℃ on July 25.

To deal with the heat, many Hangzhounians decided to head down to the conveniently air-conditioned subway stations and hang out for a while. The above picture is line 1’s Qiaosi South Station, which saw over 600 locals gather to rest, eat and play card games away from the heat.

Although some were worried about the people getting in the way of those who really wanted to use the subway, the station staff decided to do the kind thing by keeping the air conditioners on and thus not driving them out. That’s nice.
