Two Foreign Credit Card Fraudsters Caught by Shanghai Police
Jan 03, 2014 By eChinacities.com

At the end of December 2013, police in Shanghai exposed and caught a credit card fraud scam being carried out by two men. The Huangpu branch of the China Construction Bank was doing an end of year clean up and inspection when they found a ‘strange’ bank card with no logo or pattern on it. The bank called in the police to watch the closed circuit television records whereupon they spotted the two foreign men.

It turns out that the two men have over 400 counterfeit cards with more than 50 million RMB between them. They traced the actions of the men back to a fraud case which was opened at Pudong International Airport at the end of November, 2013. The full case is currently under investigation and the results will be published shortly.
