On May 15 at 11:36, a 24 year-old nurse named Wang died after a horrific elevator accident in Changhong Tower in Shenzhen’s Luohu District. According to reports, the woman entered the elevator on the 16th floor of the building, which then stopped on the third floor due to a mechanical failure. As the door was open, Wang decided to get out of the elevator, however the door suddenly shut, which trapped half her body in the elevator. Then, the elevator plummeted down to the first floor which subsequently cut Wang’s body in half.

Wang was originally from Shanxi, and was working as an intern at Shenzhen’s Pengcheng Hospital. Authorities are currently investigating the case.

Get your head out of your phone and look where you're going. The elevator stopped mid-floors. The poor nurse was so captivated by whatever was on her phone that she didn't even notice the elevator was malfunctioning, to her grisly demise. Kill your phone before it kills you.
