Shenzhen Moves Up 9 Places on the Global Finance Centers Index

According to the latest Global Finance Centers Index (GFCI), Shenzhen has risen nine places from 27th position to 18th. The GFCI ranks the competitiveness of financial centers based on 26,000 financial centers assessments from online questionnaires together with over 80 indices from organizations such as the World Bank and the OECD. While Shenzhen moved up 9 places since the last assessment (which took place in October 2013), over the last year it moved up a total of 20 places.

Asian financial center’s Hong Kong and Singapore take third and fourth spot respectively, while Shanghai remains in the top 20.
