Police in Shanghai Bust Million RMB Prostitution Website

During February this year, Shanghai’s Xuhui Public Security Bureau received information about an online dating website called “aishedes.com”, the forum of which reportedly featured posts regarding the information of prostitutes and various paid sex organizations. Police then logged onto the website and found that the creators of the website were four people named Yang Guang, Zhu Wen, Li Ming and Lin Fang.

On May 8, Xuhui police organized eight squads to round up suspects behind the online sex trading platform in Shanghai and Fujian. During that day, police managed to round up 10 people, including prostitutes and clients, in two locations in Shanghai.

From May 9 to 10, police busted a total of five prostitutes who were under the wing of the aforementioned Li Ming in a hotel in Shanghai’s Hongkou District. Police then managed to round up the other organizers of the forum in and another six people involved in the making of the website. Eight admin staff from the website’s forum were also arrested and are currently being held in police custody.

According to the police, the website would feature 14 different IP addresses every day, and had a total of 450,000 users on the forum, and over 4.45 million posts. Estimations suggest that the website owners were making millions of RMB through the site.
