Beijing is once again tightening up security by requiring long distance bus passengers to carry identification when entering the capital.

The measure has already taken effect, so if you’re planning a bus trip out of the city, make sure you have your passport with you as you may encounter problems on the way back.

The new security measure is just one of many ways that Beijing is stepping up security in the wake of recent terrorist attacks. In addition to more stringent security checks, mobile police units can now be seen patrolling busy streets and crowded areas.
