Job hopping is on the rise in China, as an increasing amount of young Chinese are becoming disillusioned with their jobs, and changing jobs frequently according to a survey released by zhaopin.com.
China’s leading recruitment portal released the survey results on Monday indicating that 54.6 percent of Shanghai office workers said they may change jobs. Throughout the entire nation, only 30 percent of respondents said that they were not intending to look for new work.
The survey also looked into overtime. Hangzhou ranked top, with 72 percent of respondents in the city saying they had to work overtime. This was followed by Xi’an and Wuhan (both 65 percent).
One worker, Ye, reported in an interview that his reason for wanting to change jobs was overtime, as his boss calls and emails him with work to do at all times of day and even the middle of the night.

" his boss calls and emails him with work to do at all times of day and even the middle of the night." Tell (dont ask) your boss that you have a life outside of work that includes meaningful sleep. Tell your boss that this time outside of work is YOUR TIME, not his or the employers. Tell your boss to not call, or test message between whatever times you are asleep. If he continues, turn off your phone when you go to sleep. He/She will get the hint. Meanwhile, be looking for another job because you will probably be fired sometime soon.

I once had a student who said her boss would often call 1am, 2am and even 3am asking her to check something online. I asked her 2 questions, why couldn't he use the internet to check for himself and why does she even bother to answer the phone? She became confused with that puzzled look on her face. They are so well programmed to be sheep.
