Hangzhou Bus Fire: Arson Suspect Among Injured Passengers

The man who is responsible for deliberately setting fire to a bus in Hangzhou on Saturday, is believed to be among the injured passengers who are in a critical condition.

The bus was carrying 80 passengers when the man, wearing shorts and slippers, poured banana oil on to the floor and ignited it, injuring himself and 32 of his fellow passengers.

Experts from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, the country’s top burns unit, have traveled down to Hangzhou to assist in the treatment of the victims.

Details of the man’s identity and his motive haven’t been revealed, although security footage has been released that captures the man in the act.
